The "All About Princeton" Walking Tour
A 90-minute, historical and witty introduction to the campus, the town, and the people who made Princeton famous! On this brisk stroll we'll take you to some of the most noteworthy and picturesque spots on the Princeton University campus: Nassau Hall, the Princeton University Chapel, Prospect Gardens, the Princeton University Art Museum, and beyond.
We'll tell you all our favorite stories, including...
• What happened in the days AFTER George Washington famously crossed the Delaware River in 1776. (Hint: they’re marching to Princeton!)
• Why Albert Einstein chose to live in New Jersey for the final decades of his brilliant life (believe it or not, it WASN’T because he was offered a job at Princeton University!)
• How Princeton University alumni continue to shape the world we live in (think: Supreme Court Justices, business leaders and philanthropists, literary greats, athletes, stars of stage and screen, and more!)
…and you’ll learn about more famous folks who spent time in Princeton, from Aaron Burr, Jr., and James Madison, to Michelle Obama and Brooke Shields, from Grover Cleveland, and Woodrow Wilson, to Paul Robeson, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Toni Morrison, and more!
All tours start at the heart of downtown Princeton, NJ, so grab a bite to eat before you join us, and ask your guide for recommendations on where to go after!
Riding & Walking Tour
Ideal for corporate groups, active seniors, or school groups who want to see as much as possible—without having to do it all on foot!
Our tour guide will board your commercial vehicle and lead your group in an engaging, humorous tour of our favorite town! You’ll wind through the streets of the Western section, whose historic mansions were once homes to today’s household names. You’ll roll past the home of the world’s most famous genius, Albert Einstein, and hear some of our favorite stories from Einstein’s time in Princeton! As we drive through picturesque neighborhoods and the prestigious campuses of Princeton University and its Graduate College, the Institute for Advanced Study, we’ll tell you why Princeton was beloved by legends like George Washington, literary greats like F. Scott Fitzgerald, stars of stage and screen, and more Nobel laureates than we can count.
After we disembark, our guide will continue the exploration with a short stroll through the historic Princeton University campus, before ending at the location of your choice in downtown Princeton. We can escort your group to one of Princeton's wonderful restaurants or hotels, or to find your driver for your return trip home.
Guided Scavenger Hunt
On our guided scavenger hunt, you'll explore Princeton University’s storied campus and historic downtown to discover hidden gems, big names, and fun facts, and lead your team to victory!
You'll be walking across movie sets, the site of a Revolutionary War battle, and in the footsteps of geniuses, discovering the Princeton you never knew existed. But don’t let the dazzling scenery distract you from your quest! As you wander through picturesque gardens and gothic archways, inside the Princeton University Chapel and the Princeton University Art Museum, you’ll have to think like a Tiger to solve the puzzles before your opponents do!
History lover? Pop-culture fanatic? Arts enthusiast? Sports buff? This hunt has something for everyone, with just the right blend of trivia, creativity, and hijinx! Our Princeton scavenger hunt is meant to inspire a little competition, but you don't have to be a Princeton genius to solve the clues—keep an eye out for your guide, who will share helpful hints as you play.
Your guide will explain the game and the ground rules before riling up both teams just enough before the clock starts ticking. When the hour-long scavenger hunt concludes, our guide will reunite the teams, announce the winner, and load them up with praise and compliments, and a tiny little trophy!
